What is a Gun? A gun or firearm is a weapon that launches one, or many, projectile(s) at high velocity through confined burning of a propellant. This subsonic burning process is technically known as deflagration, as opposed to supersonic combustion known as a detonation. In older firearms, the propellant was typically black powder or cordite, but modern firearms use smokeless powder or other propellants. Gangster Guns today
The most common guns on the street used by gangs around the world today are low priced, easy to obtain guns like .45 cal, .50 cal, .40 cal semi auto pistols, the 12 gauge shotgun, you also have your more expensive guns like the AK47 assault rifle which will out gun pretty much anything out there including the AR-15. You also have your Uzi and Tec 9mm's but they are less common nowadays. Mack 10's and Mack 11's are also rare. Most of the guns acquired by street gangs and criminals today are stollen or purchased from private individuals for cheap. Most Gangsters carry hollow point bullets which will do alot of internal damage to the body but they wont penetrate body armour very easily. so most pack 4 or 5 rounds of regular slugs at the bottom of the clip incase a guy has a vest on. The cops mainly use 9mm pistols, which are not very powerful but carry alot of rounds. cops also have shotguns and sometimes AR-15 assualt rifles. |  |

Showing just how flamboyant gang members spend much of their ill-gotten wealth, pictures show how most of the 31 'pimped' pistols found in a raid on a home in western Mexico had gold or silver-plated grips or were glittered with diamonds. Three of the assault rifles are almost entirely gold-plated and there was even a silencer plated with gold. The boat is believed to have picked up the drugs in Colombia. On Sunday, police said they captured a man believed to be the leader of the Zetas drug gang in the southern state of Chiapas. Prosecutors in neighboring Tabasco state said suspect Pablo Martinez Rojas was detained near the border with Chiapas, along with four alleged accomplices. They said the suspects carried out killings and kidnappings for the Zetas, a gang founded by army deserters.
